EEGC BASIC GUN HANDLING RULES
Know how to operate your gun, and know these three

NRA Fundamental Gun Safety Rules:
- Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
- Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
- Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
- Handling of guns, including as below, is permitted only when the range is open for firing.
- At the firing point, guns will always be POINTED DOWNRANGE including when benched.
- Position gun cases and boxes on the shooting bench with the gun inside pointed downrange before removing the gun. Position the case again oriented downrange when replacing the unloaded gun.
- Load the gun only during an open range period and only as you are about to fire.
- All uncased guns not being fired, will always be unloaded, with action open, magazine removed, and a Safety Flag (ECI) will be inserted into the chamber.
- When replacing a gun back into a case, ensure the gun is unloaded, and pointed downrange.
- When carrying a gun or moving a gun to and from firing points, keep the MUZZLE POINTED STRAIGHT UP.
- Holstered guns (strong side only) are unholstered only at the firing point while facing downrange.
- Constant care for muzzle discipline is required. Be aware of persons close by and farther away.
- Protection for hearing and eyesight is required for all persons.

Some things are NOT ALLOWED:
- Fully automatic firing.
- Tracer, incendiary, flare, or exploding ammunition of any kind.
- Exploding targets, glass targets, targets that are designed to burn or ignite, or similar materials are prohibited.
- Rapid firing that is not carefully aimed and controlled.
- Guns that fire .50 BMG cartridges, or cartridges based on or similar in size or dimension.
- Intentionally damaging range property, structural materials, and target frames.
- Alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs.
